Handmade brushed yellow gold 18K (750) set with Tanzanite (Blue Zoisite) approximately 0.50ct Tanzanite is a quite rare gemstone found only in Tanzania where it was discovered in 1967. It was introduced to the market by Tiffany’s who gave Blue Zoisite the commercial name Tanzanite in 1968. The stone has a low resistance to ultrasound and should therefore NOT be cleaned with ultrasonic cleaners which are normally used for most other stones/jewelry. The stone is also quite soft, 6.5 on Mohs scale, which means that it is prone to scratches if used carelessly in every day wearing … Despite the obvious weaknesses this is an amazing and almost hypnotizing stone with an extremely good luster.
